Haiti Mission Trip Canceled  

We have been closely monitoring the escalating political and civil unrest in Haiti, and have decided to cancel our trip in January. Lisa Hellyer and Meghan Willeford have been in contact with our counterparts in Haiti and they do not see the situation improving by January. There is currently a call for the president to step down, riots, school closings, security alerts issued for U.S. Embassy personnel, etc. We know this is a great disappointment for all of you who have so selflessly served on the ground there. Our commitment to Haiti remains strong, but we need to feel confident about the safety of our team. We will continue to monitor the situation and when things change, we will look to re-establish a team and trip at that point.
