Stephen Ministry
At certain times people experience hardships that are often too difficult to handle alone. Sometimes, just talking to someone you can trust can make a world of a difference.
At Lord of Life, Stephen Ministry is available to help those who are experiencing troubles. Highly trained people in the congregation – known as Stephen Ministers – provide care and support for fellow Christians in need of a friend.
A completely confidential program, Stephen Ministry is an extension (not a replacement) of the pastoral care provided at Lord of Life. A Stephen Minister listens, cares, prays, supports and encourages the person he/she meets with on a regular basis.
Emotional and spiritual care is provided for difficulties including but not limited to:
- Loss of a loved one
- Hospitalization
- Divorce or separation
- Loneliness or discouragement
- Unemployment or job crisis
- Chronic or terminal illness
- Birth-related issues
- Spiritual emptiness
- Aging
Stephen Ministers don’t provide magical cures, but they do listen and care as God heals the wounded hearts and souls of his children.
If you have questions about Stephen Ministry, contact Lori Betten at ldbetten [at] mnu [dot] edu and please put "Stephen Ministry" in the subject line.
