How should I dress at Lord of Life?
Comfortably. Generally, people are "business casual." Although at the 10:45 service especially, people dress simply casual. If you like dressing up, that's fine too. The key is to come with an open heart for the Lord.
How do I join Lord of Life?
We offer introductory classes to introduce you to the process of becoming a member at Lord of Life. If you're looking for a church home, we'd love to have you. Send us a note to lordoflife1@lordlife.com or call the office. We would be happy to walk you through the process of becoming a member.
Do I need to be a member to attend Lord of Life services?
No, everyone is welcome to Lord of Life services. Come! If you have questions about becoming a Christian, let us know. We'd be happy to give an answer for the hope that lies within us!
I'm not baptized, should I be?
Yes. Accept Christ and be baptized. Do it as soon as possible. We would be honored to baptize you into the faith and help you with your faith walk. Send a note to burtg@lordlife.com right now to schedule some time to talk.
Should I participate in the Lords Supper (Communion)?
If you are unclear on the meaning of communion, you should have a conversation with Pastor Garwood before participating. We invite those who are one with us in the fellowship of faith and understanding of the Lord's Supper to partake with us. Our understanding is: Jesus is the Son of God and the only Savior from all sin, Satan, and death. The Risen Christ is really present in this sacrament, and with the bread and wine I receive the body and blood of Jesus. This is the power of God that allows me to live a changed life, through dedicated service to the Lord in His Church and in my personal life.
Where do I go when I get there?
You'll be met by greeters in the lobby that will direct your way. We encourage you to come to the bible study hour in addition to coming to the worship service of your choice. The bible study hour is at 9:30. The worship services are at 8 and 10:45.
What's the music like?
Generally contemporary praise music. However, we weave in some traditional music as well from time to time.
Can my children stay with me in the service?
Yes, if you'd prefer your children to stay with you in the 10:45 service that is perfectly fine. We do encourage you try Adventure Outpost. That worship experience is designed just for them. At 8:00 a.m. service, children are not dismissed. Instead, a children's message is provided during the service.
How do I get content added or edited on the web site?
Send the copy you'd like to be on the site along with a suggestion of which page the content should be added to. If a new page needs to be added, which ministry does it belong to? Along with edited copy, please send any pictures you'd like to have included. Please understand that copy may be edited for length, and pictures may be resized. If you have any pictures from ministry meetings or events please share them! All website requests and updates can be forwarded to lordoflife1@lordlife.com Updates will be made once or twice a week.
