Band of Brothers

Help Pastor Burt Garwood lead Band of Brothers, the men’s ministry at Lord of Life. Men are needed for the following:

• Point Men to oversee and lead the Father/Daughter Dance on February 4, 2011
• Leaders for small group startups
• Planners for the Peak Challenge in July
• Teachers for Sunday morning men’s classes
• Leaders for the Father/Son Baton Pass

Sermon Research Team

Assist Pastor Burt Garwood with sermon research – stories and illustrations for sermons; sermon topics; ideas for spiritual growth.

Creative Worship Team

Provide assistance to Pastor Burt to plan multi-sensory experiences for worship that involve the media and arts.

Stephen Ministry

Help Pastor Burt create a span of pastoral care for those who are hurting. Volunteers will undergo 50 hours of training to be on his pastoral team who provides special care giving to members under his supervision and Stephen Ministry leaders.

Greeters

Lord of Life can use additional people to welcome guests and help them feel at home. You can assist by introducing guests to your friends, helping answer their questions and making sure they meet Pastor Burt.

Community Service Ministry

You can help the community service ministry team by volunteering for any of the following opportunities:

• Team Member – help strategize and plan service opportunities for Lord of Life
• Greater Things – Be a part of the team that helps to strategize and plan the Greater Things event
• Greater Things – Participate in the Sunday, August 28 Greater Things community service event that reaches out to residents in the Leawood/Overland Park area

Bible Class

People with teaching and/or leadership skills are needed for the following area of adult ministry:

• Bible Class Leader – Gifted teachers and facilitators are needed to lead classes on Sunday mornings and other times throughout the week.

Small Group

People with teaching and/or leadership skills are needed for the following area of adult ministry:

• Small Group Leader – Get a group of friends together and lead them as you walk alongside each other on your faith journeys.
